Since 1986, the American Cinematheque Board of Directors annually honors artists in the movie industry who are „committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion picture“. Previous honorees include the likes of Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino, George Clooney and other high-profile names. This year the prestigious award will go to Tony Stark’s alter ego Robert Downey jr.

The presentation takes place Friday, October 14, with an expected number of one thousand entertainment industry notables attending (proceeds fund the community film programs of the non-profit organization). In case you missed to order your ticket for the elegant black-tie dinner followed by a multi-media award show, you can still enjoy watching the red carpet arrivals without even having to leave your home.

The live stream will feature Downey himself as well as his father, director Robert Downey Sr, the presenters Jennifer Aniston, Jack Black, Michael Douglas, Jon Favreau, Jodie Foster, Jamie Foxx, Anthony Michael Hall, Guy Ritchie, Garry Shandling, Joel Silver, Robin Wright and many others. Broadcasting is handled by WyTV, a growing player in live streaming, currently producing five regular shows. Earlier this year, the online network attracted worldwide attention with actor Charlie Sheen’s first web format „Sheen’s Korner“.

Brad Wyman, WyTV’s programming director and producer of classic independent movies like Adam Rifkin’s „The Chase“, the controversial tv show „Look“ and the Academy-Award-winning „Monster“, was so kind to provide us with the opportunity to feature the red carpet stream on here. Watch it friday, October 14, at 6:30 PM PDT.
