Mike Le Han wins Best Film at 7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival

21. August 2011

Actually, UK filmmaker Mike LeHan decided not to send his much hyped fantasy short „Mrs Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room“ to any festival at all but instead put it online for everyone to watch and enjoy. He made one exception though and it has turned out as pretty much the right decision. When the 7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival wrapped on August 18th at the Geisha House in Hollywood, the big winner was – Mike Le Han. Taking home the Best Overall Short Film prize endowed with $ 10.000 and a miniature Oscar, the overjoyed Englishman did not miss to send out his gratitude to a great team helping him along the way: „I did tell you guys when I pitched the idea to you, didn’t I?“

For the British filmmaker, this is the second award he received for his much beloved short after winning at the Intl. Movie Trailer Festival last year. On his trip to L.A., Le Han also screened his film by request of Disney at their Burbank Animation Studios on August 16th to an enthralled audience.
